The snow Saturday night was short lived. No official reports yet, but I think we got at least 3-4 inches. Much of it melted yesterday as the temperature rose up to 42 F/6 C under full sunshine. Warm, but active pattern this week. Rainfall amounts don't look too impressive here despite the multiple chances. Might have to break out the shorts for 70 F/21 C weather Wednesday.

I still have snow on the ground. Covering everything but less than an inch of slush. Even the not high rainfall totals late this afternoon should melt it all. There was a lot of annoying black ice this morning as it went down to 15°F, helped chill the snowpack. By Thursday, only higher elevations of northern New England will have snow. Will repost a map then. Montreal has almost 2 feet; their winters are cold enough that the snow cover is consistent.

I didn't realize how cold it was last night. Dropped down to 19 F here.
Currently 42 F/6 C and overcast. Should start raining late afternoon. Heavy batch of rain in PA and NY but I think it might move to the north of me.
850mb (5000' level) was -12.5°C. Impressive! Hence the record lows at the surface in Seattle. Models saw this 7 days out.
Here is what the latest Euro shows next 10 days. Nothing extreme after tomorrow but stays below freezing throughout (at 5000'). Actually this whole week looks interesting.
Here is this afternoons 5000' temp map.. It's not often you see PacNW colder than -10C at that level. Hence why it's an extremely cold airmass and hence why record lows haven't happened much lately. I rarely see pinks over there.
wind picking up as the ridge moves in. Southwest wind 23 mph just clouded over and 46°F
Warm Front Clouds moved in at 11am this morning. been cloudy since and now drizzling.

I had an uneven snowpack this morning due to the rapid meltdown yesterday and wet snow. Average of 3.1" as I was taking a core sample. Icy crust on top. The core melted to 0.49" liquid.
had 6.9" yesterday morning. Expecting 1" still tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow should be warmer.. I haven't been in mid 70s since Early October. Would feel weird in February.
