For those of you who don't keep a weather journal or notes... Start now. Never too late. So much fun looking back at your own location versus an airport site nearby.
Last year we had several snowfalls by now
We had a small snowfall in the area last week with anything from a dusting to 3" depending on where one lives. The area I live in got around 2.5" but it was gone the next day since the temperatures climbed right back up to around 50 F.
Yeah, it was a hot October here, too. In fact we hit our hottest days in October and not in the summer
I am also waiting for a good snowstorm--and it can keep snowing through mid-April as far as I am concerned
Typically when there is blocking over Greenland the jet stream digs down in eastern U.S with cooler air...not this time... wave lengths are short coming from pacific.

Hey! I posted that tweet, too in the autumn thread. Different comment than yours. Seems like most are switching to the winter thread now? And yea, I thought Greenland block usually means cold, appears there's an unrelated ridge over the eastern US. Or as you said, short wavelengths; usually the Atlantic trough would be bigger.

Since it's "first week of December" related, I figure post here. I'll check out your comment now.
I'm still in Fall thread posting current stuff.
Edit:: Damn, you beat me by 31 minutes. lol. I was on my phone so I didn't go into the Fall thread to see latest posts.
