The high in İzmit has been 40.2°C today. We've had the highest temperature of the year in İzmit today.

Man, why couldn't you wait until September is over? Don't you know September is a summer month in Northern Hemisphere?

Today is 20th September and we've had the highest temperature of the year today. Damn

KNYC is an abomination.

39 or 40c I'm not sure, this summer in Serbia was one of the hottest ever, the highest temperature this summer was in Ćuprija (central Serbia) 41c.

So this year, your place set its all time record high?

İzmit set its all time record high in July 2000 with 44.1°C.

This year, İzmit hit 40.2°C but it happened on 20th September, not July.

What is more important is humidity actually. In Early July, we had a high around 35°C but it felt terrible because of too much humidity. 40.2°C that we had on 20th September felt better than 35°C that we had in early July because of less humidity.

I think Serbia and here had a similar sauce this year. Climatically it is very similar, although their winters are a bit better (i.e. colder) than here.

It wasn't too humid though this summer. I don't think it ever went above 23c dp, but I'll have to check. Of course it probably went higher down in the plain in the Po swamp lands.
