Hello,
We are looking for a possible relocation from long and cold winters!
I really want to explore southern states along the coast but I am not comfortable with the potential hurricanes. Is there a state or part of a state with considerably less risk of hurricanes in Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi?
Thank you for your help!

Where are you relocating from. Reason why I ask is because you may be used to strong storms and winds. If that's the case than a Tropical Storm or Cat 1 wont phase you.
Just live far enough away from the coast and you'll be fine. A lot of the stats out there show what strength it was at "landfall" and how many have hit the coast.
I chose 100 mile radius of Jackson Mississippi. These are hurricanes that had a path through this area. Only 7 hit as Cat 1 or stronger since 1800s.
But note.. when it crossed within the radius 4 of them weakened to Tropical Storm strength by time it got to central Mississippi.
