I should imagine Olympia is a lot Sunnier than the UK as it has 136 sunny days per year and it’s climate type is warm summer Mediterranean

Yes Cumbria is hopeless outside of May-June. Normal sun hours are 100 or less per month otherwise. Down in the south it’s 200-250 hours in summer months

Oh for sure in summer. It is nothing but blue skies and sun mostly. The rest of the year is what I was referring to

Screenshot the metoffice page showing Selsey's 1997 hours, and settle the matter.

London and Paris looked like that in early September, but their seasons are not that defined as here. We are almost guaranteed sunny and dry summers and wet winters. Their weather is less predictable and more variable.

Not sure about Olympia as there are no figures, but Seattle is sunny from March to September, depends what your definition of sunny is. Mine is 5 or more hours of sun on average per day.

The best I can do is give you a screenshot of the July sun data. Selsey is highlighted in red as 8.47 hours per day and the info is spread out like a map of the UK. If you want I can give you the user name and password for the data, I'm sure the Met Office wouldn't mind

Yeah I dunno really. I know we are wetter than Seattle but I only see it says we have 75% cloud cover for the year on the Wikipedia page
