So the weather channel says 5-8 inches of snow. The local channels all say 8-12 and one local says 12-15. I am going with the weather channel. Though the WC is always right, sometimes at the last moment they will drastically change the forecast.
Then they say we could "lose power" of course it would be just my luck but I call shenanegans. The wind is only supposed to be 24 mph max with gusts to 40. I haven't lost power in such situations before. Just in case, I am making reservations for a hotel room for Friday and Saturday.
where do you live, EmilyFox? Just your region, curious where your forecast is for
Eastern mass. WCVB I think is really pushing it. They say it will be a fast storm (8 hours or so) but say it will be 15 inches. That is 2 inches per hour sustained. Seems implausible.

If you're on the capes you might have some mixing involved. Storm is close enough and a classic to throw back a foot for parts of Eastern MA. We just don't know if the amount of precip until its happening. (exacts are tough!)
Keep an eye on NWS forecasts. Use the "expected" snowfall map. Blizzard Warnings might have to go up taken the winds into consideration. At least for Maine for sure.
Typically we would have more interior states involved with the northern stream, its bone dry thanks to the Arctic Hgh and this is purely banking on the coastal storm to throw back precip.
New NAM model coming in with more negative tilt to the trough which would mean storm might be even closer to the coast. Here we go with last minute changes for everyone..
