I live in Arizona but am from Colorado. Many people think that ALL of Colorado is extremely snowy and this an example how parts of Colorado have nothing winters compared to places like Erie, Pennsylvania.
Colorado Springs has had a whopping 2" of snowfall this season for instance. This even far below last winter when Colorado Springs had already had 6" of snowfall for season.
I just looked at the data for Colorado Springs the all-time record low snowfall amount for a winter-season is 12" in 2010, they had 17" in 2005 and 2008.

Seems like when ever there has been a low pressure system with upslope snow in the Denver metro area that with Monument Hill just a few miles north of Colorado Springs it translates into a dry downslope wind.
I have came across many who really do think that all of the front range has very snowy winters with constant deep snowfall on the ground.

Interestingly, I was just in Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak had a dusting of snow in the least sunny parts of it and parts of the top of the peak had nothing.
I have seen more snow on top of Pikes Peak in the middle of the summer than this winter.
