Yes, 14 recorded at Lauder on NIWA's network. Wellington had a reading of 13.2 or close to that. Went to the fairly sheltered Scorching Bay about 330 pm - sun still fairly strong but manageable. Dry ground and only light winds made the temperature feel more like 26C than the 22C recorded at open sites.

That's actually a negative for New Zealand climates - in that you are likely to get sunburn even though it's not that hot
