Coldest April on record in Indianapolis????? It sure seems like it, through yesterday, the monthly average temperature was at a bone chilling 44.4 Degrees Fahrenheit, more than 7 Degrees colder than the 30 year average of 51.6 Degrees Fahrenheit.
Indianapolis is only 7.0 degrees below average. They need to be at least 7.4 below to tie or set the record for coldest April.
As noted above models are calling for a ridge to build in the west of North America and a trough in the east towards the end of the week. Edmonton could see its first 20°C temperature since October; Southern Alberta could see mid-20s and interior BC could push 80°F.

Low 50s today and feels so great. Funny how in fall I consider 54 "cool" but in spring it's "warm." Sun makes a difference to. If it was overcast and windy or rainy I would say its "cool." Spotted the first flowers, the grass is super green and most the snow is gone. Hard to believe we got a record breaking April blizzard a week ago!
Minneapolis is as warm as Indianapolis is as of 3pm this afternoon, I guess the sun must not be angled anymoreIndianapolis probably will bust below the forecast of 62 today.
