Austin is forecast to hit 100 by Friday. It's been very dry lately, the un-irrigated grass sections are turning golden brown again.

No, I will still live in the Chicago area. I can't really move out of the state because I have 14 years left to earn a full pension. Unless I end up doing something other than teaching. Tampa, Miami, or Phoenix will likely be areas where I would look to retire.

Until then.... here is Chi/ORDs forecast. Stormy night? 80 degrees tomorrow, mid 70s for the remainder of the week.

Got a tiny .20" over nite. I still say i am not going to see much rain this week. If i get over 1" i would be shocked. Most the rain will be south and east of me far away.

Yesterdays Max Temps. Sunday May 13, 2018.
70s in Northern Vermont
50s in Southern NJ
90s in Central VA

My soil temp this morning is 57.5°. 2 days in a row the air max temp was under 60°F.

Rain helping soil stay in upper 50s but looks like a slight down trend since May 4th when it was at its peak 66.9°.

Plants are loving the magic rain but not liking the cool soil.

BTW -- 60 Hours straight without sun. Haven't seen it since evening of May 11th. This is the forecast this week.

Haha, no, I meant no sun as in 3 days of clouds. We're relying on you to update us on sunspots.

And you would hate it here for your Vette.
Either there is salt on roads, pollen falling, or wet roads. Hard to have a clean car for more than few days in winter and spring.

Look at the spread in temps today. 65F/18C northeast by the lake, and 89F/32C in the south/southwest suburbs.
