Hi guys I’m from Barcelona in Spain.
I don’t like my climate as it is not warm enough in winter. I like tropical climates and would love to move to the tropics if I could get a job there.
What is your favourite ? Cold winters or warm winters? My winter is mild but I would prefer somewhere with reliably warm winters which you cannot get in Spain. Possibly Cyprus or another Mediterranean island this is warmer but I think I have to move to south of 25N to be really satisfied.
This is especially relevant now when I crave summer warmth
Let me know your opinions guys

I have always preferred mild to warm winters over cold winters, even as a kid, I was never fond of the extreme cold weather, even if it meant lots of snow. That being said, even humid subtropical Fort Worth Texas isn’t super warm during winter, although Fort Worth Texas winters are much more tolerable than Indianapolis winters, even if Fort Worth Texas’s winters are bipolar at times when it comes to temperatures, I would say that winters in Fort Worth Texas are no
Worse than they are anywhere else in the Southeastern United States.

Northern California has the ideal winter, IMO.
Mostly upper 50s, 60s, and lower 70s. I guess that would be described as mild.
Cold/warm are great for vacations, but I would hate to be in them all winter.
Edit: tropics means insects and sweating during December/January. No thanks.
Grass isn't always greener.

Southern California has been in the 70's almost all winter. I think there were one or two days in the 60's.
For some reason it seems California is getting almost all of global warming. Even San Francisco saw 105 this summer.

Northern forest winters in the US, Dfb Climate, zone 4. The closer to a large lake, the better- north of 45N latitude.

Most tropical areas have dry seasons during the winter period, so the insects and sweating may not be too bad.
And what are you defining as Northern California? Because 70s in winter are hardly common in areas like Eureka.

If not for the winter cold fronts, then places like Houston, New Orleans, etc will be far warmer than SoCal during winter. It wouldn't even be close. These areas already have average more winter nights above 60F than any area out West.

Cold winters. Highs around 32F and lows in the teens.
So far, it's been a great winter with all of the arctic fronts and snowstorms
