Let's see - average temps in Virginia in summer, highs near 90°F. Average highs in Netherlands, UK, Belgium in summer, highs around 70°F. And somebody wonders why people suffer in heatwaves more in Nw Europe?

Yep ^^ But also anyone saying that heatwave you guys are getting is a joke is full of it unless they live in like Phoenix or similar. That is hot for a lot the US as well. Certainly hot for where I am. Even Miami in the hottest month has an avg high of 91f but the humidity on the east coast of the US makes it feel so much worse.

“Currently, June 2019 in Germany is only narrowly behind the three hottest Junes (1889, 1917, and 2003) since at least 1881,” said German meteorologist Michael Theusner in an email. “And with the upcoming extreme heat wave, there is a very good chance we will break the 2003 record. The eastern parts of Germany have their hottest June already, and, Berlin/Brandenburg and Saxony by a margin of 1K [1.8°C].”

The latest model runs have the worst of the heat staying on the continent, London now seeing highs up to 32C.

Exactly what the weather channel had the whole time once again proving it's more accurate than weather online.

Looks like a normal warm blip up here, couple days over 22 degrees, nothing interesting. Still, much better than we had in the second week of June.

The weather channel is rarely more accurate than weatheronline. Maybe 95-5 in favour of weatheronline. GFS usually underestimates highs in Europe. It will reach around 34-35c somewhere in the SE late in the week.

Weather channel was barely showing any days reaching 30c in London, which is clearly nonsense.

The weather channel is absolute rubbish lol. And how can a forecast be "more accurate" when it hasn't even happened yet you melt?

A "forecast" is just that

How is the weather in Seattle anyway?
