I've passed through Death Valley in the summer a number of times. I don't recall the exact temperature but something north of 110.
The hottest in a city where I lived was 108.
Though what was most unpleasant was one time at a Texas airport with very high humidity.
Hottest: 114F in Needles, Calif, in July 2015, in a car whose air conditioning had just quit.
Coldest: -44F in Thule, Greenland in Feb. 1986. Pitch dark 24/7.
Ha! It was -20°F this morning.
I have seen -35°F & 105°F in summer....same place Southeastern Montana.
On the other side of state I have had -47°F on the recording thermometer. There are several state locations where it gets 50 below for a few days most winters.
Wow! I'm kind of grateful to not have experienced some of the extremes others have, not sure I'd survive. Mine are 115f in Las Vegas, NV and 8f in Portland, OR
