Snowshoe is a ski resort area in WV ...high elevation....no surprise...but....
but...Hagerstown 13 inches...wow! ....Hagerstown is just outside Washington DC...
low elevation too...it was my home base when I visited DC twice...has a nice big mall.
Hagerstown is about 70 miles NW of D.C. and west of the Blue Ridge Mtns...different climate.
The storm appears to be over in Cumberland. We got skunked a bit last night, around midnight it looked like the precip. was filling back in, but was just light snow off and on. Snow rate picked up around dawn and it snowed pretty hard all day. We only got about 3 additional slushy inches though as it warmed up to 34 or so pretty quickly and cleared blacktop and concrete stayed that way.
My amateur measurement in my back yard was about 8-9 inches total.....but I suspect we got closer to a foot that fell, but much of it melted or was compacted. Still, a really impressive spring storm.
Mesoscale Discussion for Heavy Snowfall rates just issued. Outlined in Blue on the current radar map
"Heavy snowfall with 1 inch per hour rates will be possible
from the Newark, New Jersey & NYC areas over the next 2
to 4 hours. This heavy snowfall will spread northeastward into
southern New England later this evening"

Enjoy the snow....none here 500 miles north of you
You’re right...I checked, you know your Maryland.
Cumberland, MD is interestingly warmer than Hagerstown, even though it is farther west, more in the mountains.
Cumberland average highs are very similar to DC ...some months even warmer!
Could Islip win this poll??? 9" in 2 hours?? heavy banding over them sure will do that. Seeing some pics and hearing reports of 6-10" on the ground in areas of NJ and Long Island now. Wow!
Bummer. Nothing in SE CT as of 3 AM Thursday, as reported by relative. Rained all day Weds. Not a single plow has gone by in the area - none needed. Just a mere dusting. Where's that promised 8 to 12"?
Upper Low was like 50 miles southeast more than projected. That 50 miles made the difference in many areas that busted. Air was too dry and heavy precip never made it there.
