Požega.

One of my favorite climate in Serbia.
Winters are perfect, summers are pleasant.

Only I would like more sunshine hours.
Požega is the most cloudy place in Serbia and the foggiest place in Serbia (probably even in whole Balkans).

Požega has the nicest and longest summers. It also seems to have a nice early spring.

Where did Owen go?

What is the explanation for Pozega's cool and gloomy climate? At 43N and only 315m of altitude it doesn't make too much sense for me.

Požega is in the valley and has specific microclimate. Fog descends from surrounding ones hills and mountains and stay long in valley.
Even in summer in the morning fog is quite often in Požega.
In the winter somethimes it happens that in whole Serbia temperature is 10-15c and it's sunny, and only in Požega there is fog all day and temperature is 0c.
City Kraljevo is at same latitide as Požega and altitide of Kraljevo is 193 m which is not big difference than Požega. Kraljevo has average annual temperature 11,5 and Požega just 9,7c. Kraljevo also has more sunshine hours than Požega https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraljevo#Climate

Average annual temperature in Požega for 1961-1991 was 9,3 which is for only 0,4c lower than 1981-2010 https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Požega_(Serbie)#Climat
In other cities and towns in Serbia annual temperatures for 1981-2010 are quite higher than in period 1961-1990.

Is Požega really cool? It's warmer than Albany which is at 87m and latitude 42°N.

Požega is cool for that elavation and latitude for European and Balkan standards.

North America generally has colder winter than Europe at the same latitudes and elevation.

Sarajevo is at altitude of 550 m at same latitude as Požega and has higher annual temperature than Požega https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarajevo#Climate
Not to mention places in Italy and France which are at the similar altitude and latitude as Požega.

Yes, Pozega is extremely cool considering its location in SE Europe.

My town in Switzerland is warmer & sunnier than Pozega and it's located at the 46 parallel and 430 m of altitude.

Pozega looks like a real outlier in Europe.

I see, I had thought you meant compared to the rest of the world. I agree, it's cool for Europe.
