It was the first snowfall of 2018 in Brazil.

Brazil getting snow and here I'm getting tons and tons of rain

By the way, some of those trees in the first photo look like Araucacias ("Monkey Puzzle" in English). I didn't know they could grow in Brazil.

Yes, it is the araucaria. Actually, this beautiful three is very common in Brazil, especially in the three southern states, but it can also be found in São Paulo, Minas Gerais and probably in other states too.

Very cold in coastal Tierra del Fuego lately. Rio Grande had an icy day yesterday (-12.5ºC/-3.2ºC) and is likely to repeat today.

Right now a powerful low is in the making. It will create blizzard conditions in northern Patagonia tomorrow and on thursday

A cold and cloudy week ahead, apart from friday which will be 22C and mostly sunny with late showers. A cold front is expected on friday night and another on sunday night into monday morning. Rain totals are expected to be around 60-70mm in the period from friday night until next wednesday.
