One of the snowiest places in Australia - and the one with coldest avg max.

July max is just below zero which is impressive for Oz

A similar temperature here yesterday, with 4.1/14.6C, although conditions alternated between clear skies and brief showers, with 23mm of rain. Snow level lowered towards the end of the day, to around 900 metres.
No, from the local news. Highest point of Buenos Aires province is Tres Picos at 1239m. It's the one above the rest in the last photo. Funnily enough, its shape resembles a bit the Everest's north face, somewhat like a mini Everest

---

1.2ºC/11.3ºC here today. Another nice and sunny winter day. The province had some light frost.

In Peru? Sounds uncommon this far North. 1134 Miles from the Equator, that's like cold and snow in Cuba. No?

Looks like kids and livestock are dying from the cold and snow.

Yep, in Puno, southern Peru, is very common, it happens yearly. More oddly, in all the high Altiplano, snow can happen any day of the year. Even is more possible during "summer", wich is the wet season there.

----

The chronicle here during the last four days: Rain. Drizzle. Repeat. In the days when London it doesn't seems like London anymore, we're replacing them

Puno is over 3800m ASL. Perfectly reasonable for snow to be on the menu.

Poor kangaroos. Whats going on in that part of Australia this winter? Food shortage doesn't happen within days. Has to be weeks or months worth.

CNN actually covered the story too. Wow! lol

https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/30/austr...oom/index.html

Quote:
"Canberra is experiencing a perfect storm of hardship for its kangaroos. New records have been set in Canberra for very cold, frosty nights this winter. This, coupled with very dry conditions with very little rain at all in June and July, means there is very little food for kangaroos, " Iglesias said, via email.

That's good snow cover for that altitude. Those ranges aren't part of the Andes?

Some photos here from a recent trip down south:

All relatively low mountains. First around 1350m, second around 1800m, third around 1900m, and fourth around 2100m
