Which one do you think has the best subarctic climate?

Homer, AK (Dsc): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homer,_Alaska

Yushu City, Quighai (Dwc) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yushu_City,_Qinghai

Labrador City, Newfoundland/Labrador (Dfc) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labrador_City

Oymyakon , Russia (Dwd) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oymyakon

Verkhoyansk, Russia (Dfd) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verkhoyansk

My favorite is Labrador City, with Homer a distant 2nd.

Yushu City all the way, relatively mild winters, decently warm summers, and a fair amount of sun, makes me choose this over the rest.

Yushu because the winters are the most ideal.

None of the above. They all stink.

The one with the least harsh winters, what ever that is supposed to mean.

I picked Oymyakon and Verkhoyansk. There are a few other great Siberian ones in that sub -40 league, for example Seymchan, Tura, Amga, Yakutsk, and probably more.

But, there are a lot of other good ones too. For example, in Dudinka or nearby Norilsk, you sacrifice some of the winter cold of the aforementioned ones, but you get a butt ton of snow in return. Worthwhile exchange imo.

Agree with you. Labrador city is near my ideal climate. Cold, but not too cold and snowy. Can get warm in summer, but not for more than a month or two

It's a tossup between Homer and Labrador City from the list. I like the relatively mild winters of Homer, but it's probably too cloudy and I don't like that a minority of winter precipitation falls as snow even with highs below freezing. Verkhoyansk and Oymyakon are out for being way too cold, Yushu City seems to get almost no snow at all. Petrozavodsk is the best subarctic climate I could find, but somewhere just north of Perm or northeast of The Pas might be even better.

I think Homer, AK is the best, Yushu City is basically snowless and the other three have frequent tempeatures below -30'C which is just too much.
