Had a fast pop corn shower come off the gulf. Only rain within 70 miles. Maybe got .15".

Coldest week of the season coming. This is why. Boom and Boom airmasses hitting....then watch the coastal storm come up at the end of the loop next weekend.

Cold today. High was 56F at IKK, 53F at MDW, and 51F at ORD, but earlier in the day. Currently 38 degrees.

Was channel surfing today and caught an NCAA football game on an American station that was being played in the snow. In mid-October in southern Wisconsin ?

Cold pocket of air aloft moved south over that area, somewhat unusual- but not uncommon. The Northwoods of WI saw a few inches of snow in the favored Lake Superior Snowbelt areas. That area has already seen several snow events so far this month, today having the largest coating.
