I got to turn my air conditioner off for the first time after Hurricane Michael cleared out, and I haven't had to turn it back on for an entire week now.
It is just fascinating to me how different the two halves of October have been here in Indianapolis. After the first 10 days of the month were above, sometimes well above, normal, we've now spent the last 13 days below, sometimes well below, normal. The the first 23 days of October, we're more than 6 degrees below normal for this time of the month. And nothing above 54 is forecast for the next week, though we could maybe hit 60 again on Halloween. We had our first official snowflakes the night of the 12th, though nothing stuck to the ground thankfully as the earliest date we've ever had measurable snowfall is October 18th. Our average first measurable snowfall isn't until November 19th. But this chart really tells the story of two totally different Octobers! Just such a sharp change that isn't letting up.
Same. I started the month +15 !and now I'm back down to +3. Shows how much these transition months can vary!
Clouds moved in. Midday and winds making it feel brisk. Cant wait to get home and see how much snow fell in Maine today and also check out the 2nd piece of energy for Monday!
Highs in the 60's here four days straight. Fairly overcast since Monday.
Getting rain from remnants of Hurricane Willa tonight.

These months are better than those months where 5 days well above normal makes an entire month Average above normal when most of the month was below or normal. Hate when that happens. Plus these type of months are interesting for sure.

While we will get quick normal breaks at times, they just keep on digging. And Wow at Euro beginning of November. Unreal. #NoFall #PolarVortexDisplacement
^Cool stats. I usually just use the NWS site, but that's a quicker way to reference data. I'll have to check if it has KBTP.
Low dropped to the coldest of the year, 27F. We have definetly hit 90-100% color now, many trees are bare, even in the warmer and lower elevations of the Pittsburgh metro
