Here in Kansas City, we dropped to 13 (F) on Friday night, 9 on Saturday morning, and now my meteorologists are predicting 7 on Tuesday morning. That's 30 degrees below normal! If this same pattern happens in January, the temperature would be -10 to -15 -- dangerous stuff!
It feels like we've had six months of winter and six months of summer and nothing in between in recent years.
Got down to around 19 Saturday morning in the Indianapolis area; the weather channel is predicting a low of around 18 for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, so not much better than KC here in Indianapolis
How does Louisville Kentucky or Indianapolis compare to Kansas City’s weather in your opinion?
Southern Indiana and Louisville region is a milder and wetter version of Kansas City, seeing somewhat less extremes in heat and cold overall- as well as less in the way of rapid temperature shifts. Louisville has the worst urban heat island out of the three. It is way too warm and humid for my liking considering I prefer a climate type of the Northwoods, Dfb.
It stayed in the 50s today, but it's really only cool at the surface. Upper heights are warm thanks to the west Atlantic ridge. No surprise to see central/south Florida baking in the 80s. These troughs need to dig east. I want to see them pushing into the Bahamas, not the tropical Mexican Gulf coast.
