El Nino's been great in Texas this year. All lakes are full courtesy of record October thru January rain so far.

It would be nice if the 18Z GFS run came true and winter actually stayed for awhile in the East.

I called for a dry winter. Odd Dec was wet as heck and then right at the start of winter the tap ran dry.

Correction: Spilling into the eastern 2/3's of the USA. Pretty normal these days.

If we ever do get cold this winter, expect us to be around 1-2C below average. You guys out east will have -10C or more anomalies so enjoy.

If only we had that out west sitting over the Yukon, NWT and Northern BC....deep arctic intrusions from the north are nearly impossible to get these days...last one was in Jan 2012, which in itself was a pretty common midwinter event. In that time frame, the east has seen at least three or four historic arctic blasts.

January 2012 was the last time we had snow on the ground for 3+ days.

Temps aren't bad but I need more sun. Hopefully late January delivers a good stretch of sun.
