I didn't see a thread with Edmonton already, so I decided to make one, especially with all the talk of the September snow. So let's rate!

Note that the Edmonton City Centre weather station that is referenced by the Wikipedia article is one of the most UHI-affected weather stations in Canada. The weather station fails to meet WMO standards and really shouldn't be used for any serious analysis. I have no idea why Environment Canada continue to use the station for public consumption--they don't use similarly affected stations for any other Canadian city.

When comparing to other places it's probably a good idea to look at the much more robust data from the Edmonton International Airport.

The six or so weeks of summer are great. The rest of the time it's butt.

D. Summers too weak. It's interesting at least, which saves it from being an E or F.

C. Not the kind of seasons I like. Winters are fine, would prefer warmer, but spring, summer and fall are too cold. And snow in September? Hell no.

But the difference btw both stations isn't crazy (just 1.6ºC). The UHI effect makes the readings more representative of the city's climate than in an airport.
