I am familiar with the area, it is in SE Utah. Not to far from Monument Valley
I actually stayed in a nearby town, Mexican Hat, it is much lower, about 4300 ft elevation,
much hotter drier. I was there in january though, below freezing with snow on the ground
Blanding, at 6100 ft, is cooler, similar to nearby Cortez, Colorado.
The high elevation means cooler, more manageable summers,
even so, an average july high close to 90F is impressive for over 6000ft (1800 m) at 37N.
Pretty cold in winter, summers are ok and seem to get a decent amount of storms and some good heat spikes. Really quickly drops off into winter though.
Nice crispy summers. Winters are too cold. But at least it's overall dry. I hate "humid cold".
