Any hopes of a May warm are basically gone. Cool temps to dominate next 2 weeks. Another garbage month.

I don't think there has ever been a May that failed to even reach 20c, but this one is looking good so far based on the extended forecast.
The UK weather is starting to bother me, because it's May and it still can't get consistently warm. While I at least don't have to deal with extreme heat and humidity here, back in NC and OK it was almost always consistently warm by the second week of April (except in 2018, the second coldest April on record). But I'm sure when I return to the States in late May there'll be a heat wave and I'll have to deal with 90F/32C heat again.

At least I heard thunder a couple days ago. That's only the second time I've heard thunder since I got here in January.

You mean like Raleigh, NC, where a trace of snow was recorded as early as 24 October (1903) and as late as 2 May (1939)?

This week has been pretty cold, even by UK standards (and the month has started off very wet and cloudy). I don't think I've experienced any thunderstorms this year (though I was in Norway for 2 months), but normally they start around April. Last May had a supercell storm to the west of London.

Our low this morning was 42f here in north central Arkansas. Today's high is 61. We are supposed to be in the mid 40's for the next several nights. It's been a cool May here.

Yeah this May has been ridiculous up here. Coldest in my records of 12 years by FAR at the moment. What you're experiencing def. isn't normal. If you had been here last year you would have had an average max of about 21°C in May with lots of warm, sunny weather.

The upcoming 3 day stretch of rain and 50s aside, it's been a very good spring overall in Bucks County PA just north of Philadelphia. These pics were taken this morning and yesterday, looks pretty much like summer now
