I decided to do these sets first, so let's get to the battle of the climates. All of these cities are between 44 to 46 degrees north in latitude. So anything lower than the 44th parallel north and higher than the 46th north will be excluded. So let's get started.

Minneapolis. Best combo of summer warmth, warm season rain, and winter weather. It's in my top 10.

I choose Venice over Portland for more rain and humidity in summer. Venice gets more thunder and warmer summer lows as well.

The other choices don't deserve any real consideration.

First choice is Portland: Decent amount of sun and ok temperatures. A B- climate.

Second choice is Venice: Decent sun, a little less than ok temperatures. A C climate.

Portland for the sunnier drier summers and slightly warmer winters on average than Venice. The others are failures.

The borderline Med climate of Portland has my vote. Yes I know the dry season is only 3 months there and the rainy season 9 months but the dry season is delightful with no rain.

I just noticed Wakkanai's record lows are really strange. Any specific reason for that?

Either Wakkanai or Barrie. I chose Barrie because Wakkanai is too cloudy.
