Last week we had a good blizzard, the best so far this winter. Snow depth reached 60 cm (2 ft) in the lower hills, with 5-6 ft drifts.
It's certainly a great season for this area, with continuous snow cover since mid-November. Well, last winter was also good, although it was a back-loaded one and most snow actually fell in March (and April was almost summer-like, so no real spring last year).

Quick snapshot of the North Saskatchewan River from Sunday. It was rather hazy; there was a smog alert in effect of all things!

This might not appear to be a winter photo at first glance, but I took this photo a couple of days ago, and just noticed the firewood trailer sitting there -mostly likely advertising trailer lots for around $200-$250 for eucalyptus or pine ....... winter is coming!
