San Rafael is one of the wettest San Francisco Bay Area cities, however 2017 was an exception. 2017 featured both much more rainfall and hotter summers, although it is still considered csb under the Koppen scheme. https://imgur.com/gallery/rw0e8F6

Summers are too hot and the rain is a *bit* intense earlier in the year.
