This thread is about posting annual summaries of previous years, be it from ancient centuries or the last few years. Any climate, anywhere in the world are interesting for this, so long as it's real verified data
I'll start with a few 2018 readings from Swedish islands:
Visby, Gotland
One of the sunniest years on record for an actual settlement in Sweden.
Hoburg, Gotland
The southernmost tip of Gotland lost its record as the sunniest place in one year in Sweden last year, but gave it a good go and set a new station record.
Holmön, Bothnia Bay
Located near 64°N between Sweden and Finland off the coast of the Swedish side, Holmön has strong seasonal lag and the potential of very warm summer lows.
Visingsö, Lake Vättern
Being an island in a deep lake that struggles to both warm up and freeze courtesy of its volume, Visingsö's reaction to the 2018 heat wave and the delayed spring was rather intriguing. This definitely doesn't look like the typical interior climate of Southern Sweden during summer, since the lake surface is rather cool. Still, a lot of warm winds eventually brought summer temps up.
I hope to see a lot of interesting weatherboxes being posted!
If anyone remembers when I was moaning about pretty much every summer, here are the years from 2007-2012, during the peak of poor summers here. Full of record breaking cloudy and wet months, and all but 2009 and 2010 were much cooler than average.
1992 in Great Falls. In general it was boring and mild compared to what it could have been. January and February were much warmer than normal and July and August were much cooler than normal. Daily temperatures:
However, the largest snow storm of the year came in August. 8.3"/21.1cm on the 21st and 22nd. August was the warmest month of the year and the snowiest. The 21st had a max/min of 38/32F (3.6/0C), which was 30.0F/16.7C below normal, in summer. How many climates can do that? Video of the snow:
Two days in August did not get above 39F/4C. Two reached 95F/35C.
December started out above normal, but it reached 0F/-18C on the 17th. 0F is not unusual in winter, and it was back in the 40s quickly. But the last 5 days were extremely cold. From about 8pm on December 27th until 9am January 1st, the temperature was below -13F/-25C. The coldest was December 30th at -17/-22F(-27/-30C), which is 43.5F/24.2C below normal. It also snowed 1.3"(3.3cm) that day which is a lot for such cold weather.
Another oddity: May 15th was warm with max of 70F/21C and the 16th also reached 68F/20C, but overnight it dropped to 31F/-1C and snowed 0.9"/2cm.
Oxelösund-Femöre 2018 (15 km south of Nyköping)
Landsort 2018 (50 km east of Nyköping)
The impact the sea has on the climate in the Sörmland province and the surrounding archipelago is definitely rather sizeable with these comparisons! Some data of Oxelösund and Floda have had to be aggregated by proximate stations due to some days of missing data, although the vast majority is verified. Luckily, both had their precipitation sensors working all year.

2007
2008
2009
2010
2011
2012
Those summers were literally a decade ago now and a full 0.3°C below average. Try and put it behind you.
Nikkaluokta 1966 - as cold as a Swedish or a Scandinavian climate can get.
Seven months beneath -5°C inside Sweden's borders with a stronger sun than relatively nearby Tromsø which has never fallen beneath -18.2°C ever? Check. Norrköping 2018 was about 14°C warmer than Nikkaluokta 1966.
Truly a remarkable year. First of all, -5°C average highs and -9°C average lows in February, without falling below -16.5°C even once all year. Then way above average up there with 2014 and 2018 in July, followed by a deluge of cold rain and probably a lot of wet snow in October!
