So the south is known for hot, humid summers and grey, wet winters. I can handle heat over cold, I was just wondering if there are any major cities in the south with relatively mild summers and winters? Thanks all.
On the other hand, it's not too mild in winter with its -2.6°C winter lows
Therefore I'd say Cape Hatteras is a good suggestion for mildness alone, even though Asheville and Bristol in Tennessee are rather good for seasonality and moderated summers.

But Asheville has the best summers!
Cape Hatteras is good for mildness until you see their very humid summers (80% RH) with 22-23C lows. That's extremely muggy.
Cape Hatteras is the best for mildness because humidity hardly matters if temperatures are mild. However, it's VERY prone to hurricanes and probably doesn't work best as a place to live unless if you want to live in a rural area or a very small town.
Atlanta, Virginia Beach, and Charleston, SC are the best otherwise, with Atlanta having the benefit being much less prone to hurricanes. I actually consider Atlanta to be the best major U.S. city in terms of climate (People on the weather forum all have their own preferences; some people even have extreme preferences.). Looking at stats, Atlanta doesn't seem to be all that different from places further south in peak summer, but the main difference is the length of summer. You can go to FL for milder winters if you want. Or you can go to Asheville if you can't stand heat.

But, Cape Hatteras avoids the heat that the rest of the lowland south gets, they don't hit 32°C three years out of every ten
