Average grades:
Group 1: 73.4% / C
1 A climate, 1 B climate, 1 C climate, 2 D climates, 1 E climate, 0 F climates, 0 Z climates
1st Place. There were no truly "bad" climates in this grouping, led by an A and two climates near the B/C border. The remaining three climates are marginal, but not awful. In fact, all six climates in this grouping did better than Group 4's average.

Group 2: 67.2% / D+
0 A climates, 3 B climates, 0 C climates, 1 D climate, 1 E climate, 1 F climate, 0 Z climates
3rd Place. A strong third with three good climates and another that would fall into the "mediocre" category. However, two bad climates, including the 2nd worst rated out of the 30 total, drag this one down.

Group 3: 71.7% / C-
1 A climate, 2 B climates, 1 C climate, 0 D climates, 1 E climate, 1 F climate, 0 Z climates
2nd Place. Very close to coming in first, had the highest proportion of "good" climates (3 out of 6), as well as the best-graded individual climate out of the 30 (Chicago), although Eau Claire squeaked by that B with the slimmest of margins. However, two climates scored poorly (a low-end E and an F), dropping Group 3 from the lead.

Group 4: 53.4% / E
0 A climates, 1 B climate, 0 C climates, 3 D climates, 0 E climates, 1 F climate, 1 Z climate
5th Place. There was one good climate here and three marginal climates. This group was the only group to have multiple climates that outright failed, including the only "Z" grade climate in the group.

Group 5: 62.0% / D-
0 A climates, 0 B climates, 1 C climate, 2 D climates, 2 E climates, 0 F climates, 0 Z climates
4th Place. There were no awful climates here, but there were no good climates here. 6 years of constant marginal climates.

Hmm I wonder makes the 'odd ones' to be 'odd' ? The only noticeably weird one in the group is San Francisco.

Anyways, my ranking order is the same as tij's:

Group 2 > Group 5 > Group 3 > Group 1 >> Group 4

Group 4, most of the climates are rather ok or nice (MX City & New Orleans) enough to deal with Mecca's stupid levels of heat. The rest of the group include too many cold climates so group 4 it is. I like this idea of a climate battle tho, hope to see another one!

I'll take group 5. The only climate I find really bad in it is Novosibrsk. I like the mildness of the Northwest and the humidity of the Southeast. Plus I have a soft spot for Italy.

Group 2 is alright to but having 2 Midwest cities and their winters brings down the score.

I like Group 1 for the wide variety of climates. Austin is too hot for my tastes and International Falls is too cold, but they balance each other out, IMO.

Based on my current preferences, it would be very close between group 2 and group 4. Group 2's C's are mostly C-'s, but I guess I'll choose group 2 to avoid Mecca and include Bastia. It's really close though so I might change it.
Group 1: 0 A's, 0 B's, 4 C's, 1 D, 1 F
Group 2: 1 A, 0 B's, 4 C's, 1 D, 0 F's
Group 3: 0 A's, 1 B, 1 C, 3 D's, 1 F
Group 4: 0 A's, 2 B's, 3 C's, 0 D's, 1 F
Group 5: 1 A, 1 B, 1-2 C's, 1-2 D's, 1 F
