Found this really cool website where you click anywhere in the USA, and through the power of science and math, it estimates what the climate would be like at that point.

PRISM Climate Group, Oregon State U

Set it to 30 year normals, 800m resolution, and check precipitation, minimum temp, mean temp, and max temp. After choosing a place on the map, click "Retrieve Time Series" for the estimated climate. The one downside is that it averages out the elevation of each "cell", meaning that on mountains it won't be giving you the estimated climate of the mountain peak. This happened with the climate I simulated, Mt. Olympus, as the elevation it is predicting for is about 500 feet lower than the actual summit. You can select "Interpolate grid cell values" and select a specific point, but it still seems to average out a 800m cell and the same thing will happen.

Anyways, here's what is probably be the snowiest place in the continental USA: Mt. Olympus. The snowfall is estimated by me, and I was pretty conservative with it. I'd rate this climate an F, as I'm sure you all would.

Hoping to see some other interesting climates from this tool.

This is what the tool spit out for where I grew up. The sunshine and record temps are from a nearby airport

Can't believe I'm saying this... but that's way too much snow even for me. I could certainly enjoy up to 400" per season, maybe even up to 500" (ideally spread out evenly over 8-10 months from Sep to June roughly) but that'd be my limit. Now 1400"... that's an absurd amount; even I couldn't keep up with that much shoveling!

In the end it's still a B-.
