March 2019 was a month of two distinct halves where weather is concerned.
2nd-17th was notably wet, unsettled and cool, with several consecutive days of gales.
18th onwards was dry with prolonged high pressure and some mild temperatures.
No real cold spells occurred in March so it was 1-2°C milder than average. Didn't even go below freezing.
Sun hours aren't available yet but it was most likely slightly below average.
So it was still freezing for most of the month. After living through this month, I just realize how dry it can be here at times. Only 4 solid precipitation days, with like 3 other days of trace rainfall/snowfall. Other than that one notable thing about here was the high diurnal range. Lots of colder mornings, with milder afternoons, as I really didn't feel too cold during the day most of the time, but it certainly was chilly most nights. Still even with that, there was a lot of snow melt due to the fact that the 2nd half of the month was warmer than average, however, the first half of the month was so cold, it was still about 5.2F below average overall.
March 2019 was wetter and colder than normal in the Indianapolis area. The monthly mean temperature came in at 38.2 F, 4 degrees below average, precipitation was 5.02 inches, the average precipitation for March in Indianapolis is 3.56 inches.
Another boring month with below normal rain and above normal temps. No crazy high temps for my area on the gulf. A hair warmer than last March and i had .30" more rain than last March. Had 1.30" this March. So temp wize i can live with it. But nothing like the Marches we used to have when he had real winters in the 80's.

A warm, cloudy and dry March; the first March with an average maximum of 30.0 or more since 2014. Also about 0.5C warmer than january...just shows how poor that month was and March was only 0.5C above average at Perth Metro and 0.9C at Jandakot.
From Corvallis' Official NWS weather station at Hyslop Field:
Ave Max = 56.1 (13.4) Basically standard for the time of year
Ave Min = 33.2 (0.66) roughly 1.35 degrees F below long term average going back to 1889. About 2.1 degrees below the most recent 30 year mean. March's have been slowly warming up over the past 130 years.
Precipitation was at 1.94 inches (49.3 mm) which is about 4.43 inches below long term and most recent 30 year averages. This past March was the driest since 1992.
This month was one of contrasts. Up to about the 13th March was on track being the coldest one in history. At the rate we were going it would have been colder than two thirds of our Februarys. But starting the 15th we had a sudden reversal and the remainder of the month took us from about 10 (5.6) degrees below average to just over 2 (1). It was still a slightly chillier than typical month in spite of three days in a row where we topped 70 (21) degrees and had three others that just missed it.
What of April? The air mass pattern that brought us that arctic blast the first half of march will return again, I believe. It won't be as brutal because the arctic itself has been WAY warmer than average this past month but we'll see some more atypical chill. Since the NWS is predicting a wet series of storms to visit the Pacific Northwest this week and early next, we'll see rainfalls exceed the April average before the 10th. I'm looking at rainfall totals to run around 3.5 (90mm) to 4.5 (115mm) and temperatures to average out to about 47 to 48 degrees or 2 to 3 degrees below long term standards.
Very good March with many warm and sunny day - 3 days above 70F and 14 above 60F. All-time record for March was recorded twice - on the 19th and the 20th.
