A 23°C mean isn't "pretty hot"; our avg mean is close to 23°C right now in mid April, and I'd consider it very warm, but not hot

Seems pretty nice to me as long as those record highs in the summer are a rarity.

Solid A-, I feel like a climate about 1000 feet higher would be really close to my dream climate

B-
Winter is too mild, and summer is a little on the cool and dry side, but it's not too bad overall.

I'll give it a C+ because the summers are a bit hot but not horrible, with somewhat cooler nights, but the sunshine is excessive.
Yeah tbh it is quite warm biased because I really don't like cold. Valence looks quite nice for a 4 season climate though.

B+ - winter lows are too low for my tastes.

Love the sunshine and shorter winters. Overall I’d move here after I retire.

NY pension is holding me put for 20 more years, otherwise I’d move south after my daughter graduates.

D. Originally considered a C- when looking at temps only but then saw the dryness and way too high sunshine.

I bet there is a micro climate somewhere in northern California
that comes close to matching it.

Yeah I commented on Valence since the precip pattern reminds me of SE France/ NW Italy with the dual autumn and spring maxima but don't believe a climate like that exists there either...
