This doesn’t surprise me the least bit, especially since much of Alaska has been record or near record warm for over a month now

Looking at Nenana's weather records... it's been an absolute torch. Only one day since March 8 has stayed entirely below freezing; March 14 had a high of 28 F / -2 C, which is still higher than their average high of 22 F / -6 C for that day. (March 13 and April 3 had a high of exactly freezing) Average highs don't get above freezing in Nenana until about April 2, and this is nearly every day for almost a month before that with highs above freezing.

Temperatures at or above 50 F / 10 C were seen on three days in March; the 21st, 24th, and 31st.

Every day since February 16 has had a high temperature that was above average except April 3, which was 1 F below average.
