A couple of strong t-storms in the area yesterday afternoon and evening, though I didn't get anything from them. I got 0.73" of rain overnight but I don't think it was accompanied by thunder... Feels nice this afternoon after frontal passage. 85F with DP of 64F at 5 PM. Forecast low of just 64F tonight!
Interesting. Decided to check after seeing the front still hanging around the coast. Thought was gonna be a dry evening. Also... evening 60s? Not summer like

930 pm update: Rain has filled in across eastern New Jersey with
showers waning across the Delaware Valley southwestward as
daytime heating has ceased. Forecast remains in good shape, and
made no changes at this time.
715 pm update: This was supposed to be a quiet(er) evening...
Light rain/showers continue to plague Delmarva and coastal New
Jersey early this evening. The post-frontal low-level
environment and the unusually cold air aloft have combined to
create a favorable environment for cold-air funnels on the
northwest side of the precipitation shield. Several reports of
these have been received from the Fenwick Island area, on upper
portions of Delaware Bay, as well as the southeast New Jersey
coast. These are expected to remain off the surface (i.e.,
harmless).
Meanwhile, an ambient/slow-moving boundary/region of confluent
low-level flow is generating showers along the western shore of
Chesapeake Bay north-northeast into far southeast Pennsylvania
and adjacent portions of New Jersey. These showers are
developing in a still-favorable environment for occasional
downpours (given the preexisting moist low-level environment).
Would not be surprised to see a few spots receive a quick
quarter to half inch of rain in these downpours. Given the slow
movement of the confluent zone, some locally heavy rain may
occur with the strongest/most persistent showers. Generally, the
forecast has this in hand and have made no changes to the PoP/Wx
grids at this time.
If anyone getting several inches of rain would like to spare an inch for us, feel free! I don't even know if we've had an inch yet since July 1, maybe just over. Grass is drying out everywhere.
After last weekend's heat and humidity, this week has been gorgeous! Heat and humidity return this weekend, though not as bad as last weekend. Of course I'm trapped indoors at work all day during the week and only able to get outside on the weekend. Ugh.
I'll send you half a foot of rain, no problem. I'll still have our normal amount after I send it.
