Hasn't really been that hot this summer so far with hottest temp of just 95F. Looks like that trend will continue the next two weeks but things could change mid-August if NOAA's forecast below is correct...

Fort Worth Texas hasn’t had a single day at or above 100 degrees so far this summer season, the average is 18 days of 100+ per year..........

I'm on a major UK weather forum (netweather). Numerous posters in surrounding towns and the Northern Lincolnshire/East Riding of Yorkshire area described similar sudden temperature increases during yesterday evening.

The closest PWS I could find to Donna Nook had an increase from 21 to 27°C in a few minutes at that time, not as extreme as the main weather station, but then it is a few miles away.

I'm not surprised it happened yesterday, it was an unusually hot day and temps still in the 90's well past 8PM inland so a change in the wind direction (Donna Nook is on the coast with usually suppressed temps) could have been responsible.

It would have to stay around a while to do that.

Very warm today and tomorrow. Cools down by Tuesday

As of yesterday, ORD stands at +3.5F above normal mean temp and +2.5F above normal in max temp. IKK is at +2.8F above normal in mean temp and +2.6F in max temp. Next 3 days will add to that so this July will cancel out June's temperature deficit.

I had one warm month this summer. August is looking horrible. GFS pounding us with cool air. CFSv2 has moderated a bit in recent runs. Hopefully the GFS will do the same and it won't be as cool as it's showing right now.

I'm at 60f at 7am, feels great outside.

The forecast is odd for late July/early August. Highs for the next two weeks range from upper 70's to very low 80's. Lows mostly low 60's. Several degrees below average.
