So this is slightly above normal for late June.
No one thinks that Labrador City has great summers or even a good climate in general.

But it's still not that bad for a North American latitude comparable to southern Alaska.

Edmonton, Alberta is actually quite a bit better than Labrador City, at a nearly identical latitude. Actually slightly north of Lab City.

It has 23-24C or 74-75F as an average July max.

Why do I keep hearing how bad this summer is so far. It is amazing to me how different we here on the East Coast can be from the Midwest or New England.

So far, June is -.2F below avg here, and will go above after this string of 90F days.

And the forecast going forward is warmer than average.

Hopefully we get some rain in the coming days. It's been super dry this past month. I'm sick of wild fires ruining summers here.

April, May and June up until the summer solstice date were totally crappy where I live. Since then it's been quite nice here - almost like a switch was turned on.

So yeah, since it's been "officially" summer it's been nice. But the first three weeks of June and much of May usually feature summerlike conditions here. This year there was almost no one of that during those periods.

April, May and now June will all end up above average here.

The month of May 2019 here was warmer than an average July in London Heathrow.

We've only seen 118 hours of sun so far this month. One of the cloudiest Junes ever (and so soon after 2016 and 2012). February was sunnier.

Overcast and 82 in Austin on the way to 88 with thunderstorms. Wish the sun was out more.

Warmer in NYC with 85 and full on sun on the way to 88. Boston only 70 though, it's being moderated by the cold harbor.

Montreal further inland partly cloudy and 78, must be nice walking around there.

Chicago partly cloudy and 84 on the way to 85. People must be rejoicing there but the beach on Lake Michigan will have trouble getting to 80 because the lake is still cold.

New Orleans and Miami continue to be under the ridge. New Orleans sunny and 93, Miami sunny and 93 for the debate. Those candidates will experience some good heat in Miami today, no thunderstorms to cool them off either. Nothing for Beto but Klobucher will probably be sweating like a hog since she's from MN.

Nothing interesting out west, SF and LA under marine layer until noon (June gloom), Vegas and Phoenix seasonal heat, Seattle seasonal. Boring.

The interesting thing is that LA will be heating up by Saturday. Interesting that June gloom will end right as July sets in, like clockwork. Instead of low 70's with fog until noon it will be low 80's with sun all day. Summer will arrive in LA on Saturday and should be there until November.

To compare with the previous post:

Currently 75F where I am at lunch time, heading to 88F by late afternoon. Relative humidity is 75% and dewpoint is 70F. Current "feels like" is equivalent to 90F. Forecast to reach the equivalent of 95F in late afternoon. Mix of sun and clouds.

Backyard pool temperature is 86F.

I was out at lunch and it was very warm and sticky, but not really hot - yet.
