This is my dream climate. It is based off of the Cascade and Sierra Nevada foothills, hence its name. It is a very wet and mild Koppen Csb that has most of the rain falling in the form of heavy downpours, rather than sporadic drizzle. Atmospheric rivers are frequent occurrences throughout the wintertime that bring heavy rainstorms, and cold fronts bring snowy weather. This area would likely have about 40 days a year with 1"/25.4mm or more of precipitation.
Summers generally come with low humidity as typical of a west coast climate. The heavy rainfall seen from late fall to early spring wanes as summer starts, leaving a short dry season. The area experiences heat waves from time to time, but rarely are they very severe.
Pros: cool summer nights, snow (unsure if it's realistic though), lack of mugginess and humidity during summers
Cons: too much rain in winter-- i'd really get sick of it, and I generally prefer wetter winters. Would also prefer a somewhat more even sun distribution. Days on the hotter side, but not horrible, during the summer, and not enough rain to support temperate vegetation despite huge overall totals.
I'd probably give it a B-, and it would be closer to a B/B+ with less rain (but still being lush) in a more even distribution. Would love you to critique mine!
It is quite nice, but I see some negatives. Summer is a little dry, which makes it dusty and less green, winter is cold and rainy and nights are too cold.
If the winter could be cold enough to get snow instead of rain it would be much better.
Its too hot in the summer and too dry in the summer. It would be better if the summer highs were about 10 degrees lower with much more rain. One thing I hate about living in California are the super dry summers.
Also there is too much snow in the winter for an ideal climate. I prefer cold weather with very little snow to mess up the roads.
Possibility of snow during the winter
Cool nights year round (nice because I hate hot nights)
Awesome amount of rainfall
Sunlight hours November, December, January
Bad:
Dry summer
Too warm year round
Winter needs to be colder & longer
Sunlight hours too high the rest of the year
