I'm sure if the results showed the opposite i.e. that people prefer cold, and someone said this isn't fair because it was taken in October, a transitional month, where they just had a long summer and so may want a return of cooler weather, you would say that's a not really valid point to bring up.

Not sure many posters would agree that Bordeaux is more like Santa Rosa than Paris.

Perhaps you can show how they're similar, in a "real world" way?

Paris is still a better match for Bordeaux than Melbourne, and with much the same dynamics - all are Cfb climates, so it makes sense that they are similar.

Santa Rosa is nothing like Bordeaux, unless you ignore the temperatures, rainfall pattern and sunshine.

Why don't you explain why Sydney is a better match for Bordeaux, than Paris?

I never brought up Sydney, you did

But even so, Sydney and Bordeaux are warmer in winter and summer than Paris

But Bordeaux and Paris are closer - much, much closer.

How is that "real world" explanation coming along?
