Yesterday the dewpoint rose at 22c in Brest of all places, in 35c heat. I wonder how many suicides happened, because there are entire weeks in mid summer where the temp barely reaches 22c over there . Insane.
29.5c at my apartment now, we might break a new monthly record today.
A short while ago Carpentras broke the all-time record for France with 44.3°C but then this was immediately eclipsed by 45.1°C at Villevieille. The day's not done yet either... https://twitter.com/lachainemeteo/st...94280259829766

When, precisely, did temperature records begin in this Villevielle?
Only 34c here now, but a 24c dewpoint nonetheless.
Kinda starts to feel like Louisiana or something. It's a bit of a bummer to have to wear 2 shirts a day, but at the same time everything that's washed dries so fast.
Meanwhile, sunny and 22c in London. Zero sign of any heatwave.
Looking at about 32C in London tomorrow, of course just a hot day rather than a heatwave. Australia will probably feel right at home playing in their Cricket World Cup match in London on Saturday.
The temperatures in southern France are just insane though, especially when you consider how early in the summer it is.
No sign of the heatwave in eastern Germany today, with afternoon temps around 27c. I was walking around for a few hours after lunch and no sweat at all. I tried to keep on the shady side of the street to get a little less sun. The weekend looks like the heat will be back, with temps in the 32-35c range.
