Photos from 10/23/2019

Taken outside my work, up the hill on my lunchtime walk. City of Pittsburgh and UHI at full peak, if not a smidge beyond now

On the way home, about 10 mins from my house. My area is really starting to look past peak now As much as I'm looking forward to winter, its always sad to see the colors go.

Stamford, CT. Lots of Yellows. Oaks are changing now so should be more colors happening soon

Grabbing some firewood I seen this wooly worm.

Warm winter with a cold back end.

A lot of acorns dropping so squirrels are burying

NY side... Still green out there. I'd say 30% green still on average for entire area.

Few random shoots from 17th October. This october was unusually warm and sunny. Many days above 20°C. Even 25°C have been surpassed in Moravia in some days (eastern parts of CZ). Today we are behind coldfront which swept through country in the past 12 hours a weather will turn towards more average for this time of year with some snowfall in the mountains and highlands in the next days.

don't have the time or energy to go through 1,000 photos. Here's four from a hike on Sunday of Columbus Day weekend in the White Mountains. On or just below Mt. Madison, the northernmost Presidential range peak. When you see sunset from above treeline you got great timing but you're gonna be hiking in the dark. Across the Great Gulf to Mount Washington, towards south

looking north near to the end of the mountains

east across Pinkham Notch

Madison's shadow, an hour before sunset

and then Monday just before sunset, above Pinkham Notch

Colors fading, winter is on the doorstep now

Photos from yesterday 10/30/2019. Took pictures in the same spot on my way home to compare.

Last week: Green / Turning / Color / High Color / Peak / Past Peak / Fading / Gone
This week: Green / Turning / Color / High Color / Peak / Past Peak / Fading / Gone

Sad to see the colors go, so brown already. At least winter is just about her.
