Environmental News from Around the World - Forecast Earth

I just found this and wanted to share it with everyone. I haven't had a chance to check out the cities yet, but it's supposed to give a comparison to this winter against past winters.

Our temps werent horrible, but our snowfall levels were. Ugh. Unbelievable amounts of snow here (I forget the exact amount). I mean, no Buffalo-like levels, but alot more than we're used to.

We were a bit warmer than usual (2.35 degrees). Kind of left out the part where our usual snow fall is 110" and we got 197.8" this year though. Overall not a bad winter at all. Bit snowy, but never did get to the -40 mark this year, so that isn't too bad.

Typical. Wyoming was invisible again. They could name 500 cities and none of them would be in Wyoming.

However, I did check cities in the direction where we normally get our weather and it showed warmer this year. I concurr.

EH I get my weather from you and I agree that it was much warmer than usual this winter. Usually we have a straight week or two of the sub-zero temperatures but not this year. Plus, it has already started to warm up earlier than normal here. GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!!!!

It's hard to notice which winters are warmer or colder, they're all too cold for too long.

Now if we had a winter month with zero days below 45 F I'd take notice.

You're right~They ARE all too cold for too long.

Danny, you get your weather from EH and I get mine from you, BUT we had a very cold winter over here. As you can tell, it doesn't list my city so I used Sx. Falls. They are always a few degrees colder then we are, but that's about as close as I could find. We were well below average so I'm just hoping there will be no more La Ninas.

Toronto wasn't on the list. The nearest city was Rochester, NY. They were a little above seasonal.

It seemed that we were close to seasonal for our temperatures, but way above average for precip. It's quite possible that Toronto did not get colder than -20 Celcuis or -4 Fahrenheit. As far as absolute lowest winter temp., that's a little on the mild side.

*Jammie, about Winnipeg's cold, it's similar to northern MN, only maybe a little colder still. -50 Celcius is a common windchill on a bad day there, (probably coldest of the year) and punched into my scientific calculator that equals -58 F.

I'm not familiar with either the metric conversions at those low temps, or Manitoba's specific weather because I've never been there and southern Ontario never sees weather that cold. The coldest windchill I've even heard rumours of is -49 F, (-45 C) and I don't even know if they were pulling my leg since I was away in Jamaica at the time. () The coldest I've seen is -40 C which is also -40 F.
