It's been an unusually dry November.
How unusual? According to records from the National Weather Service Portland, the last time the city saw zero rain the first week of November was 1957.

More bad news for the fire season next summer if this winter is a repeat of the multi year drought earlier this decade

This past summer was cloudy, mild, and we even got decent amounts of rain. Very different than previous summers since I've lived here where we had basically little to no rain and almost always had a haze and smoke from wildfires.

Well, you know I don't mind this.

Maybe one can keep tomatoes on the vine past Halloween in the Valley?
We moved to Seattle region, and we sure miss heirloom tomatoes picked ripe off the vine. Perhaps Puget Sound Washington will get warmer, sooner?
