November was very cold, but most of all it was the wettest on record in Sheffield.
The most striking statistic was the massive rainfall on 7th, when 80mm of rain fell that day, which is a record. Needless to say, there were numerous floods around the area.
The cold temperatures of November were quite consistent with no mild periods or very cold periods and there was no snow.
This Novembner ended up -5.5F below normal. Last November was -5.7F below normal. But last December was +5.5F above normal. Does this December follow last year's pattern?
These last two Novembers really cut into the average temperature for November. The average temp for November 1991-2019 is 40.1F. The 1981-2010 average is 40.3F
Another above normal month on temps like the last 60+ months have been. But this Nov was much better than the blazing Nov's of 2015 thru 18 with many days of 90's for highs.
Cooler and drier than normal. Nearly tied the all time low for the month on the 13th! Warmth late in the month made the coolness of the month less impressive as it had been. Ended up reaching 80F yesterday, the 30th.
Lowest max: 43F
Highest min: 63F
Days with freezing lows: 6
Highest dewpoint: 72F
Average dewpoint: 44F
Lowest dewpoint: 15F
Considering the average November averages 26.1F, this November was 2.1F below average. So nothing really noticeable. The first half of the month was way below average, but the warmth of the 2nd half brought it back up. Before the 30th, there was only 3.8 inches of snow, which would have been below average. Now with yesterday's event, the total on the 30th was between 6 to 8 inches. Down south of me there was about 13 to 14 inches recorded on the last day though.
Also, I am not sure why the NOAA station for my area is only recording down to -4F, as I remember seeing a -6F during that day using the same NOAA station. Also, Accuweather recorded -9F for my area that day. Although, I also remember up to 9F on that day it got up to 8F, so there is that.
