Rate the fictional climate: Island Cove Beach-islandcove.png

Island Cove is located on Isla Equatoria on the fictional continent of Artounica.

Island Cove is a city with 2.43 million people. It has a tropical climate but it gets most of the rainfall in the winter. Island Cove is great for going to the beach, some occasions in the winter. It is mostly in the 80's degrees Fahrenhiet / upper 20's to lower 30's Celcius. The highest recorded temperature was 101 F / 38 C on October 14, 2017, The lowest was 57 F / 14 C on April 28, 1968. The maximum monthly rainfall was 20.73 in / 526.5 mm in December 1996. Highest min was 90 F and lowest max was 65 F.

The UV index is ranges from 5 in December to 10 in July. The sunrise and sunset is 5:30 AM and 7:00 PM in summer to 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

My personal rating: F, close to F-.

How far is this place from the equator? It seems fairly seasonal, but the average temperatures are closer to what you'd expect for an equatorial rainforest.

Not a bad climate, but if the idea is a nearly seasonless climate in terms of temperature, it could be about 3C cooler as the warm season lasts year-round. C+.

I rate this climate a B. It is too wet but temperatures are decent year-round, and sunshine is excellent. How much wind does this island have so that it takes edge off of the humidity? And also, how did the 90°F low occur? A extremely high dew point?

I'd give it an A+, pretty perfect in my opinion. The only thing I'd say is the location seems unrealistic as the DJF rainfall peak suggests a southern hemisphere tropical location.

80% humidity and 30C daily highs is a solid F from me.
