Monticello, NY and Scranton PA has changed to snow with a temp of 34/35°F.

About -6°C (21F) at 5000'. May 8, 2020

So amazing to see precip around with temps crashing in May!

Center of the Upper low is still over Quebec

Snow squalls tomorrow due to instability! Look at that NW flow behind this. Gees.

We wont see snow in May for a very long time. Like the October 2011 snowstorm. Enjoy it. History for many areas.

Winds picking up here. Danbury CT has changed over now. NYC should see flakes within next 2 hrs

No, that's from KNYC, the Central Park Station, which is in Manhattan, basically at sea level. It's a freak event

{ Northeastern US snowfall at 40 degrees latitude is a complete abnormality.

My own weather now: I don't want to compete with climates that are 15-20 degrees lower in latitude but the daily highs of 10c degrees below average on next week are too much.
What also scares me is that I have noticed that in the years when May was poor, mid-summer was also poor. June may come warm but if July is poor, it's a little consolation. That was exactly the case last year.

My climate in the second half of the 2010ies has been dominated by rather strong 'oceanic' tendencies. It makes me miss the first half of 2010ies, when winters were cold but summers were ok.
