Cool read...

"That image revealed something beautiful: an atmosphere. Air. Thin, tenuous, but real.

Pluto’s atmosphere is made of 97% nitrogen......"

"Pluto spends most of its time in frozen blackness, far from the warmth of the sun, with all its interesting bits locked up as ices on the surface. But when it gets close, some of the ices sublimate, turning into a gas, which briefly allow that world to host an atmosphere""

"But for all its airy glory Pluto is losing that atmosphere. It’s currently moving back further away from the sun, and in the process some of those nitrogen molecules are converting back into solid ice as precipitation. In other words, it’s snowing on Pluto right now"

If Oregon was on Pluto what would the Willamette Valley be like and how dark would the sky be in the afternoon hours of the warmest temps?

Poor Pluto. It’ll always be a planet to me! I don’t care what they say about this dwarf planet nonsense a snowstorm on Pluto would be a real experience though!

Oh, around -375°F, and the sun would be kinda this eh thing. There, but something like 1,000 times dimmer than here. Maybe bright enough to read a book.
