Similar temperature pattern throughout the year between the two places, however:

- Boston has much warmer summers and slightly cooler winters than Bern
- Boston gets nearly twice the snowfall as Bern
- And despite that, the growing season is significantly longer in Boston (meaning the vegetation stays brown for a smaller portion of the year.)

Some sites overstate Boston's growing season because they base frost dates on airport readings at Logan Airport.

Logan benefits both from UHI and being located out in the bay. It is not really reflective of the growing season in MA. For example almanac.com gives Boston a longer frost-free season than Nashville. Even if that were technically true it would not be a good reflection of the climate nor of the vegetation and timeline for fall colours in New England vs Tennesee.

Boston probably does still have a longer growing season than Bern. I don't know anything about that climate just wanted to point this out.

I would pick Boston's climate because it's a bit warmer for Apr-Dec

I'd say Boston. I like seasonal contrast in the 4 seasons and Boston does a better job of delivering that, with warmer summers and colder+snowier winter.

Fyi, here's the growing season graph for Newton, MA vs Bern. Newton is located further inland than Boston but is still in the metro area. The difference in growing seasons is much smaller here.

Oh, yes, more of the weird mental pretzel stuff to claim the US is the deadest, most coldest country on earth for its latitude and can hardly grow temperate vegetation.

Everything about the US climate is overstated and it should really be re-classified as a subpolar super-temperate permanent deciduous ever cold climate (no subtropical flora can grow here, please don’t try. me love deciduous vegetation).
