I guess we just have different preferences. I think temps in the 40’s are cold enough for winters. Yes, NYC summers get hotter than ideal for me, but the winters are also colder than ideal during many years. But, summer heat is not bad compared to cities in the interior south like Atlanta and Dallas.

Imagine how much harder it would be if your heat did not work in January.

If I had to live a lifestyle with no modern amenities, I would definitely rather live like an eskimo in a -10 to 10c climate than like a tropical resident in an eternal 20 to 35c climate. Should be pretty clear from my posts here.

So afaik people who prefer about 12-18C (50s and 60s F) weather are not uncommon, althoug still, the majority of the world population lives in tropical climates and is probably more accustomed to warmer temperatures

A lot of people hate 90+ weather, but hate those 'dreary mid 60s days' just as much. I think most people prefer a healthy medium somewhere between mid 70s to low 80s for summer. That's usually the type of day where everyone is commenting on how awesome it is outside because it's warm enough to do 'summer activities' but not so hot as to be super uncomfortable.

Beautiful day in the low/mid 80s. DP dropped into the low 60s which feels great after pushing 75 yesterday. Had the door open this morning since it was in the mid 60s outside. A bird flew in of course...

These are probably ideal summer days for me. Mid 60s in the morning. DP around 60. It was in the upper 70s at lunch time. Slight breeze (a little breezier now).

Tomorrow and Saturday will be about identical. Sunday through Wednesday look to be even cooler! Tuesday will only get to mayb 81/82 with a few morning lows a tick above 60. Definitely below average for June but I'm not complaining.

The Worst part about cold weather isn't walking around in it it's having to drive through that crap.

Edit: most dangerous roads in America are places that get a lot of snow or get a lot of rain.
Driving through cold weather isn’t really different from driving in warm weather (unless you are using summer tires, which would be dumb). Plus, at -20F it probably won’t snow all that much because there isn’t much moisture in the air. Even if it snows a lot, it will be a dry snow. I’ll take that over 110F.

Tomorrow here will be perfect weather. A high of 77F and a low of 54F, with sunny skies. Dew points should be back down into the 50s.

Oh hell yes it is! I drive a semi truck for a living, and I certainly don't remember having to chain up or watch out for ice and snow when it's sunny and 105°F......

You can bet the bank on red over FL. I knew this was gonna be a dry June. Not a drop of rain in 5 days now and i see nothing at my house for many days unless some freaky blow ups build up right over me. The coast just always misses out on the rain 9 out of 10 times while just inland see's rain day after day.

Upper 80's are hell in my area with dews over 75f. You like that junk then move to FL. Any temp over 82f with dews over 74f is hell. None of you here could deal with what i go thru 12 months a year with the most boring weather out of all the states and super warm falls thru springs year after year.
